Fall Creek Falls is a state park in Tennessee, known for its stunning 256-foot waterfall, which is the highest free-fall waterfall east of the Mississippi River. The park features over 30,000 acres of scenic landscapes, hiking trails, and various waterfalls.

Cave tours and adventures with many different levels of adventure and difficulty. Dress in layers with good lace-up shoes and check their website for all the information before you visit.

Mountain View Cir, Dunlap, TN 37327

A 62 acre park preserving the local history of Dunlap coal mining and processing. The remnants of 268 beehive coal ovens used in the to convert coal mined from Fredonia mountain above the park into industrial coke, which was then shipped by railroad to iron smelting facilities...fueling the Industrial Revolution. The on-site museum is a replica building of the original coal company commissary store. The Coke Oven Park also hosts the annual Bluegrass music festival the first Saturday of June every year.

Formerly South Cumberland State park, the park is composed of approximately 7,811 acres and boasts some of the best hiking and backcountry camping in the region. There are lots of areas to explore, including Fiery Gizzard, Denny Cove, and the Historical Grundy Lakes.

Fiery Gizzard Trail: A 12.5-mile strenuous hike renowned for dramatic overlooks, waterfalls (like the Blue Hole), and rich biodiversity.

 
Foster Falls: A 60-ft waterfall accessed via boardwalk; also a popular sport-climbing area.
 
Rock Climbing: Permits required for each person. They’re available online via the Tennessee State Parks website.

Head of the Crow State Park, located in Franklin County, spans 4,258 acres. The park contains the headwaters of Crow Creek and offers a karst landscape sprawling with hardwood forests, caves, sinkholes, and rare wildlife. Highlights include the Sewanee Natural Bridge, a 50-foot sandstone arch that frames Lost Cove, and Buggytop Cave, one of the largest cave openings in Tennessee. The park is also home to the extremely rare Painted Tigersnail, found only within a 10-mile radius of the area.
